Kelly Campbell, MD, MPH

Dr. Campbell

Dr. Campbell offers compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults. She is board-certified in both General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the culmination of nine years of medical training and specialization. She understands each patient's mental health goals and their journey to reach them is unique. While extensively trained in medication management, she believes medication works best in concert with other strategies. Dr. Campbell is excited to work with you on a holistic plan, examining how your sleep, exercise, nutrition and interpersonal dynamics are impacting your health. She is a big proponent of her patient's pursuing psychotherapy and will work collaboratively with your psychologist or therapist, in addition to the brief therapeutic interventions incorporated into each visit.

Dr. Campbell attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and was accepted into their dual degree program, graduating with both an MD and an MPH (Master of Public Health) at the end of four years. Her background in public health complements her medical knowledge and makes her a passionate advocate for disease prevention, health education, and public policy.  She completed her General Psychiatry residency training with the Medical University of South Carolina and returned to Texas to complete a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. In her last year of fellowship, she was elected to serve as co-chief resident.

Prior to opening her private practice, Dr. Campbell worked with a variety of clinical populations and settings including emergency psychiatry, university mental health clinics, and community mental health. She remains an affiliate faculty member with UT Dell Medical School's Department of Psychiatry. Her practice consists of patients of all ages and a wide variety of diagnoses, but she takes a special clinical interest in the unique mental health challenges facing women and young adults.

New Patients

If you are interested in becoming a patient of Dr. Campbell's, please call (512) 382-6359. 

All new patient appointments are conducted face-to-face in the office to allow for a personal, thorough evaluation. For your convenience, both in person and virtual/telemedicine follow-up appointments are available. 

If you are or believe you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, including suicidal or homicidal thinking, side effects to medication, or any other urgent or time-sensitive matter in which you need an immediate response, please call 911 or go to your closest emergency room. 

Services & Fees

  • Initial Consultations (60 - 90 minutes) – $500

New patients. Comprehensive evaluation including clinical interview, identification of treatment goals, discussion of treatment plan, psychoeducation and coordination of care. 

  • 30 min Follow-up Visits  – $200

Discussion of current treatment plan and review of medications with brief, supportive therapy interventions.

  • 1 Hour Follow Up Visits - $375

Review of current treatment plan and medications with additional time set aside for therapeutic support such as cognitive behavioral therapy, parent coaching, relaxation and mindfulness strategies,  

  • Brief Phone Consultation - Up to 15 minutes - $45

At physician discretion, brief consultation may be scheduled for issues that arise between appointments. 

  • Missed Appointments/Late Cancels

Your appointment time is never double-booked and set aside exclusively for you. Any appointments not cancelled 48 hours prior to scheduled time will be charged in full. 

Insurance

Dr. Campbell does not currently accept any insurance and would be considered an “out-of-network provider” for all insurance companies.

If you choose to submit claims for reimbursement, Dr. Campbell will provide you with the needed documentation of services provided. Please note that Medicare beneficiaries are not permitted to submit claims for out-of-network providers.

Limitations

Please be aware Dr. Campbell does not:​

  • Perform fitness for duty, custody, or forensic assessments.

  • Write letters for emotional support animals.

  • Accept Medicaid or Medicare.

  • Conduct telemedicine visits with patients located outside of the state of Texas. 

  • Complete disability/FMLA paperwork for new patients.

  • Tolerate threatening or abusive language or behavior towards self or office staff. This will be grounds for immediate dismissal.

Location

Dr. Campbell currently sees patients through the offices of Collaborative Care, an ecclectic group of both therapists and psychiatrists capable of providing comprehensive mental health care for you and your family. Their offices are conveniently located near Austin's 360 Bridge (aka Pennybacker Bridge).
